ECNP Congress

The annual ECNP Congress is Europe’s premier scientific meeting for disease-oriented brain research, annually attracting between 4,000 and 6,000 neuroscientists, psychiatrists, neurologists and psychologists from around the world.

ECNP offers special rates for junior scientists, non-MDs (basic scientists), ECNP members and for residents of a country with a developing economy (CDE).View registration fees

ECNP is an independent scientific association dedicated to the science and treatment of disorders of the brain. It is the largest non-institutional supporter of applied and translational neuroscience research and education in Europe.
Besides the congress, ECNP organises a wide range of scientific and educational activities, programmes and events across Europe, promoting the exchange of high-quality experimental and clinical research in applied and translational neuroscience and fostering young scientists and clinicians. View agenda

ECNP in depth with Hanna van den Munkhof - Unlocking the potential of brexpiprazole

Junior scientist Hanna van den Munkhof presented at the 29th ECNP Congress in 2016 on the novel antipsychotic brexpiprazole. Her findings showed that brexpiprazole reverses a disruption of thalamocortical function induced by phencyclidine, which is used as a pharmacological model of schizophrenia. Van den Munkhof spoke to ECNP to describe her work and life as a junior scientist.

Registraton open for the ECNP-ISCTM joint meeting 

You can now register for the 2017 ISCTM Autumn Conference on 31 August to 2 September in Paris, immediately before the 30th ECNP Congress. The meeting is open to all participants. ECNP members are eligible for a special discounted rate.

Michel Hamon wins 2017 ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology award

ECNP’s premier research prize, the ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award, has this year been awarded to Michel Hamon, France, for his ground-breaking work on serotonin and the role of the brain receptors for serotonin in the treatment of psychiatric illness. The award will be conferred at the 30th ECNP Congress on 2-5 September 2017 in Paris, France, where Michel Hamon will deliver the ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award plenary lecture. The ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award is given every year, alternating between basic science and clinical research, and comes with a prize of € 10,000.
